We contacted Tim Kakavas at White Dove Electronics because we were looking at upgrading our current camera system to include live streaming capabilities. Our project started small, but we decided we wanted to do a more extensive upgrade that included several new monitors, 2 full HD pan/tilt/zoom cameras and P/T/Z controller with quick recall camera view presets, 4 input live streaming production switcher with built in coder to go live with the press of 1 button and a new audio-visual cabinet with a rack that would be able to slide out and spin for ease of use and service.
From the very beginning, Tim listened to our needs and put a plan together to fit what we needed. Even when we changed the plan considerably, Tim was more than accommodating to help us reach our goal. Tim and his team are extremely knowledgeable and professional. They would work around our schedule and stay late to install equipment so that they would not disturb the day-to-day workflow. As the project came together, Tim would take the extra step of coming in and training staff on how to use the new audio-visual system. He would answer any question we threw at him and if he did not know, he would find the answer to help guide us in the right direction.

I have had the pleasure of using the services offered by Tim Kakavas and White Dove Electronics for a variety of projects. His company installed a new Sound System in our Auction Truck for use at our auctions. This included new Amp, Equalizer, Speakers and related equipment. It is the best system I have heard on any auction Sound Truck in the surrounding area. He has also provided advice and expertise regarding a variety of Electronic projects that we have been occasionally faced with. He recently helped me trouble shoot a brand new sound system that the manufacturer was unable to help with and subsequently resurrect my old system and was able to return the new system that didn't perform properly. Saving me around $3000.

I have also had the opportunity to recommend White Dove Electronics to coordinate all sound and AV Equipment at the Johnson county Fair in Iowa City. In the fall of 1994 we invited Tim Kakavas into our church to do an evaluation of sound needs for our congregation. Tim was able to listen carefully to what we wanted to accomplish, and design a system that satisfied what we requested. His product was a reasonable cost for an excellent product, and his services were offered in an efficient manner. We have been satisfied with the product sold and installed by White Dove Electronics.
But the real strength of White Dove Electronics is the ongoing service. There have been a number of occasions that we have encountered problems, and Tim has responded promptly. He made the necessary adjustments and or repairs, and put us back into operation. Our repair needs have often come at inconvenient times, but because a service of worship or funeral or wedding must go forward, Tim has responded immediately.
Not all of our calls have been because of equipment problems. New wireless electronic equipment has been placed into operation by businesses near us that have caused us unanticipated interference. Tim responded, evaluated and made the necessary adjustments. When we made complete remodeling of our sanctuary, Tim was brought into consultation and made appropriate changes for our new sanctuary. He also extended sound coverage to our basement fellowship hall and other rooms in our building, as new needs demanded more comprehensive coverage of our programs.

While at Solon, Tim has worked in our auditorium and band/choral classrooms helping purchase, setup and install a large variety of equipment. He has helped us implement wireless microphones, full sound systems, lighting, setup designs, and more with great efficiency and care for his work. Tim works with us directly, notifies us regarding each step in the process and personally follows up after every project to ensure its success.

Tim Kakavas at White Dove Electronics was able to work with our current sound system to provide us with a full upgrade without going over budget. By only replacing a few components, Tim completely fixed our problems with recording and interference and enhanced our sound quality overall. And he did this without replacing the full system which others we consulted said was our only (and much more expensive) choice. He came to Sunday services frequently during the process to meet the congregation and determine our needs and to train the sound system volunteers, and has kept in touch with staff about the use and maintenance of our new equipment. We will continue to purchase from White Dove in the future and recommend Tim for any congregation needing an honest assessment of how to best use funds to improve their audio experience during worship and for the good and very reasonably priced work to get it done.

My husband and I had an outdated home sound and video system. We wanted to update it and join our computer and internet to the system. Tim came to our house, listened to what we wanted, examined our system and assessed our needs. His recommendations allowed us to use all components that were serviceable and compatible. I’ve known Tim for over 13 years. He was the one taught me how to mix sounds and record programs for our church in 2001. When I first opened up my own dental office in 2002, Tim was the one did all the internet cabling and network connection for my office. We never had any issue with the system till the day we moved. Tim even replaced an amplifier more than a year later without any charge because I thought the amplifier was making static noise.
I began a new construction for a bigger dental office at a new location in Oct. 2013. Tim was the sole man to lay down all the network cables, phone lines and the sound systems for my new office in the bitter cold temperatures. His work was very meticulous and precise. There was never room for error. His fee is reasonable and fair. His knowledge in electronics is solid and current. After all, he has over 30 years of experience in this field. When we were looking for someone to help rejuvenate our existing sound system, the references for Tim Kakavas and White Dove Electronics were from much larger places with much more sophisticated needs. Although I expected to be told Tim did not take such small jobs, I called him anyway. To my delight, he came to our house to thoughtfully assess how to meet our needs which were to buy and install new speakers and a new receiver so that we could listen to CDs, vinyl records, and FM radio in both our family room and kitchen. The built-in wiring and cabinetry in our 27 year old house did not make Tim’s job easy. He listened carefully to what we wanted, assessed what we had and promptly sent his recommendations for purchases and the exact estimate of the cost. When we approved, he ordered the receiver and speakers. When he installed the equipment, he made sure to test it out, explain it in detail and leave us with the manuals. I was so impressed with his courtesy, knowledge, and patience. He is the consummate gentleman, teacher, and expert.
I am still in awe of the fact that he was willing to take this relatively small job. We feel very lucky to have come to know him and his work. We highly recommend him for any electronics problem or need you may have.
